while working for Want a Better Website, I’ve had the pleasure of working on tons of site concepts for numerous clients. most of the concepts we do get sent to the client (9 out of every 10 or so) so they can have a good variety of layouts to choose from. not all are accepted (obviously).
so this kicks off the Graveyard category. the Graveyard is for web design concepts that the client either hated (for one reason or another) or made so many changes to it that you can’t tell it’s even this design any more. most of these, I think, are pretty solid layouts. so whenever a client balks at something like this it means one of two things: 1. either I’m way off in my assessment of what the client wanted in the first place, or 2. the client has horrible taste in design. (most of these entries will apply to the latter…)
this first concept was for a company that makes horse blankets and clothing. after this original concept, and 3 others to follow, they decided to let their in-house ad designer design the layout.
we left it out of our company portfolio.
